The Collapse of the Soviet Union
In the 1990s, the Soviet economy was failing. The Warsaw Pact (Russia's alliance in Europe - Counter to NATO) was growing smaller as more countries were overthrowing their communist puppet dictators. Eventually, the Iron Curtain of the Russians seemed more like a paper napkin. The USSR was collapsing and allowed the Berlin Wall to be destoryed. This allowed the Germans to reunite. The Soviets collapsed in December 26, 1991. In its corpse, independent Russia, Belarus, -stans, and Baltic States arose. The stongest country would be Russia.
