The Fall of the British Empire
Well, the British were slowly falling apart, as one by one, colonies declared or politely asked for their independence. The British Empire started its fall in 1947 with the independence of India. The last part of land that was lost was Hong Kong, in 1997. The loss of Hong Kong to China marked the end of the British Empire. . However, the British Empire is not completely dead, as they still own a few bits of land. One significant part of land is the Falkland Islands, a small island that Argentina will never get.
